After more than twenty-five years' experience in photography, Leonardo Cappellini presents his shots printed in large format.
They are mostly images taken during his travels in many different Countries, photo reportages that capture the memory of places and meetings that left a deep mark on his training and cultural journey. They are fragments revealing the details of different worlds, and they bear witness to a distinctive way of interpreting travel, which is meant as a quest for the manifold aspects of existing realities. By moving with an intuitive approach between the eye, the photographic medium and the context, Leonardo manages to capture scenes of everyday life, faces, special events and fascinating places that reveal the complexity of a reality worth investigating.
This store of memories and sensations now becomes a collection of large-format photographic prints. The Lambda prints under Plexiglass come in a limited edition of 5 copies (plus 1 prototype) and are mounted on Dibond backing (2 mm aluminium). The hand-crafted frame opens a dialogue with the creations of the studio, and helps weaving a subtle link between materials, colour, light and shadows. Media may change, but the eye observes and perceives intuition with the same creative process which is a common trait with all the other techniques.
